Set up a roleplay economy

UnbelievaBoat can run the in-character economy for your roleplay server on Discord: salaries for each department, licences and vehicles to buy, fines and bail, and shops for each job. This page covers the basics, then points you to the guide for each part.

Set up the basics

  1. Currency. Set a symbol for your city's money in the Dashboard → Economy.
  2. Starting balance. Give new citizens some money in the bank to get started, such as 5,000.
  3. Money audit log. Choose a staff channel for the money audit log, so every payment, fine and purchase is recorded.
  4. Staff access. Let staff use /add-money and /remove-money in Server Settings → Integrations → UnbelievaBoat. See slash command permissions.
  5. Police protection. Add your police roles as rob immune roles, if officers shouldn't be robbed.

Organise your store

Create categories that match your city, such as Licences, Vehicles, Jobs and Services. Members can then filter the store with /item store.

Then follow the guides in the table above, in any order. Most servers start with salaries and licences.

Tips

  • Use the same role and item names your server already uses, so members recognise them.
  • Test each item with a test account or a test role before announcing it.
  • Free servers can have 25 store items with 2 actions and 2 requirements each. Premium gives unlimited items and 5 actions and requirements per item.
