Blackjack
Learn how to play Blackjack on UnbelievaBoat.
Objective
Have your cards add up to a greater value than the dealer's, without going over 21.
Card values
| Card | Value |
|---|---|
| Jack, queen, king | 10 |
| Ace | 1, or 11 if hand value would be no more than 21 |
| All other cards | Face value |
- If your hand has an ace worth 11, "Soft" will appear next to your hand value.
Starting a game
Use the command to bet. The dealer will deal you two cards and themselves two cards.
You can view your own cards, but only one of the dealer's cards.

GAME ENDS EARLY
If the dealer's initial two cards equal 21, the game will end automatically before you can draw.
Making moves
There are several possible options. Select the chosen option.
| Option | Action |
|---|---|
| Hit | Get dealt another card. |
| Stand | Stop drawing cards. |
| Double Down | Draw another card and stand. Doubles your bet. Only possible if you have the cash to afford. |
| Split | Split your cards into separate hands. Doubles your bet. Each hand is played separately. Only possible if your first two cards are the same and you have the cash to afford. |
Dealer strategy
Once you have stood, the dealer draws cards until their hand value is at least 17 or soft 17. Once that happens, they stand.
Comparing hands
After both players have stood, the winner is chosen. The game is decided in this order:
- If any player's hand value exceeds 21, they lose.
- If any player has a natural blackjack hand (ace + single card worth 10), they win.
- If both player hands have the same value, it is a push and you will get your money back.
- If the player's hand value is 21, they win.
Note
A natural blackjack hand (ace + single card worth 10) will beat a hand with several cards totaling 21.
